Founding Beta & Voluntary Support Policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

Free beta access, optional contributions and what your support means.

Supporting GridHunter does not purchase, extend or improve VPN access.

1. What Founding Beta means

GridHunter Founding Beta is an early stage of the service in which VPN access is offered without a mandatory subscription fee. The project is under active development. Features, supported applications, locations and access rules may evolve as we learn from use and improve reliability.

The word "Founding" describes this stage of the project. It does not give an account holder ownership, a permanent membership, a guaranteed future price or a right to lifetime access.

2. Free participation

You can use the beta without making a contribution, subject to the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and applicable access limits. Users subject to the same beta access rules receive the same access regardless of whether they have financially supported the project.

Availability may be affected by maintenance, network conditions, capacity or software issues. We may change, pause or end the beta. We will give reasonable notice of significant planned changes where practicable, but cannot promise a fixed beta duration.

3. Optional financial support

Where a Support GridHunter option is available, you may choose to contribute towards development and infrastructure costs. A contribution is voluntary and separate from VPN access.

A voluntary contribution does not:

You should contribute only if you wish to support the project on that basis. A feature request or message accompanying a contribution does not create a commitment to deliver that feature.

4. Payment authorisation

Review the amount, currency and payment description before authorising a contribution. Only use a payment method you own or are authorised to use. Payment processing is handled by the provider identified at checkout.

A one-time contribution does not authorise future charges. If recurring support is offered in the future, its amount, frequency and cancellation rules must be clearly shown and separately accepted before enrolment.

5. No charitable or tax status promised

GridHunter support is a contribution to an independent project. It is not represented as a donation to a registered charity, and we do not promise that it qualifies for a tax deduction. Any tax treatment depends on the applicable rules and your circumstances.

6. Errors, refunds and questions

If a contribution was accidental, duplicated, incorrectly processed or unauthorised, contact support promptly. The Refund & Payment Policy explains what information to provide and how requests are handled.

The voluntary nature of a contribution does not remove any mandatory refund, payment-dispute or consumer rights. You may also use the applicable procedures of your payment provider or bank.

7. Future paid services

If GridHunter introduces paid VPN plans, they will be offered separately from voluntary support. Prices, included access, duration, renewal and cancellation conditions will be provided before purchase.

Past contributions do not automatically convert into a paid plan, a credit balance or prepaid access. The end of the beta does not automatically enrol you in a paid service. You may decide whether to accept any future offer.

8. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the project develops. We will identify changes by an updated date and communicate material changes where required or reasonably appropriate. Updates do not retrospectively convert an earlier voluntary contribution into a purchase or remove rights relating to that contribution.
